[PCA 3.x] How to Backup/Restore Prometheus Data (Doc ID 3021643.1)

Last updated on MAY 29, 2024

Applies to:

Private Cloud Appliance X9-2 - Version Not Applicable and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

The sauron upgrade is essentially a total redeployment which will remove the old PVC/PV (ssg and ssp-many). These PVs hold the data required by Grafana (ssg) and Prometheus (ssp-many). New PVs will be created after the redeployment, but all the old data are lost. ZFSSA-CSI doesn't provide a way to reuse the old PV or migrate data from the old PV to the new PV.

This KM provides some workaround to manually backup and restore Prometheus metric.

Restoring Grafana data is described in Doc ID 3003206.1.
