Siebel Server, SMC & Srvrmgr Failing & Error "SSLException: Received fatal alert: certificate_unknown" in Catalina logs of AI (Doc ID 2970851.1)

Symptoms

Siebel UAT instance is down all of sudden, not able to access Siebel application or SMC or srvrmgr. Below errors reported in different logs:

 

Error:
Connecting to Gateway:abcd.local:2320
Fatal error (2555922): Could not open connection to Siebel Gateway configuration store (%1:%2)., exiting...

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Siebel 18.12 UAT instance which was working fine for 2 years

2. All of sudden application is failing to load

3. SMC & srvrmgr also failing
